Opportunities for Retired Teachers with the Heritage Council
Edel Carmody of The Heritage Council has contacted RSTA to share information with our members about their recruitment campaign for the Heritage in Schools Post-Primary Programme. They are currently looking for people with expert knowledge of particular aspects of our heritage to take part in their programme of schools visits.
Edel writes: "I'm getting in touch to share a recruitment opportunity that may be relevant to your network of retired teachers. The Heritage Council is seeking specialists for our Heritage in Schools Post-Primary Programme which supports school visits from experts across Ireland's natural, built and cultural heritage"
If you have expertise in any aspect of heritage and would like to share your knowledge and skills with the next generation while being paid for your work, we encourage you to apply. Deadline for applications is Monday 6th July 2026."

Job Opportunities for Retired Teachers - Census 2027
The Central Statistics Office has contacted RSTA to draw attention to job opportunities which may be of interest to our members. The document attached below contains a brief job description that can be circulated to members.
Message from CSO:
"We will be advertsing for Senior Manaager positions for Census 2027 over the coming weeks. I am aware that several retired members have come on board for previous Census work.We would greatly appreciate if you would share news of these unique job opportunities with your members and networks through your communication channels and platforms.
Our next census will take place between April and May 2027 and we are now beginning to recruit staff to help us deliver a successful census across the country. Our first campaign is to recruit Senior Managers for the Census Field Staff. This competition will open on 22 April 2026 and applications are available to complete online on www.census.ie.
The successful Senior Manager candidates will commence work in September/October until June 2027. Further details of the roles are available on our website www.census.ie
There are no upper age limit restrictions on these jobs."
